  CALL FOR WORKSHOP PROPOSALS

Proposals for workshops are invited for consideration of affiliation with ISEC 2010. Affiliated workshops will be held on Feb 25th 2010. The purpose of these workshops is to provide a platform for presenting and discussing novel ideas, new applications and share experiences in a less formal and possibly more focused way than the conference itself. As such, they also offer a good opportunity for industry professionals and other researchers to informally present their work and to obtain feedback from an interested community. Examples of this work could span the gamut of possible standards that need to evolve to new and exciting ways of accomplishing common tasks. The format of each workshop is to be determined by the organizers, but it is expected that they contain ample time for general discussion. The preference is for half-day workshops, but other schedules will also be considered. Rather than individual papers, ISEC will publish a summary of each workshop as edited by the organizers.

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit workshop proposals to the ISEC 2010 PC Chairs, Umesh Bellur(ume...@cse.iitb.ac.in) or Sanjeev Aggarwal(s...@iitk.ac.in), NO LATER THAN Nov 1st 2009. Submission may be made by e-mail (Postscript, PDF, or ASCII) with "ISEC 2010 Workshop Submission" in the subject header. Proposals must include:
1. The name of the workshop.
2. A statement of goals for the workshop.
3. The names and addresses of the organizers.
4. The names of potential participants - we would like the organizers to contact the potential participants before they submit the proposal so that they can organize the program around participant interest.
5. A description of the plans for call for participation (e.g., call for papers).
6. The expected number of attendees and the planned length of the workshop.
7. A description of the plans for publicity.
8. The URL of the workshop web site.

Notification of acceptance will be made by Dec 1st, 2009. It is anticipated that SIGCSE will sponsor accepted workshops. Any further information needed for preparing a workshop proposal can be obtained by sending email to Umesh Bellur(ume...@cse.iitb.ac.in) or Sanjeev Aggarwal(s...@iitk.ac.in)
