To create a tarball (for example, a file called A3.tgz) of your current working directory, you may use the command: tar cvfz A3.tgz ./* To verify the tarball, you may use the command: tar tvfz A3.tgz and to extract in to the current working directory: tar xvfz A3.tgz All these commands should work on any Linux machine, yell at the sysadm if they do not. For tar on Windows please see http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/packages/gtar.htm. Alternatively, you can mount your CSC home directory on to your Windows desktop/laptop (see http://www.cc.iitd.ernet.in/CSC/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=95&Itemid=121 for a howto), transfer the files to you CSC home and submit from a Linux machine in CSC. Use ``Google search'' to figure out other ways. cheers,
