A B.Tech in Information Technology from The West Bengal University of Technology, I joined IIT Delhi as a masters student in 2010 with Dr. Aaditeshwar Seth and converted to PhD in Information Technology in 2011.
Research Interests: Information and Communication Technologies towards Development.
Current Research
The various social welfare schemes that the Indian Government has launched (NREGA, PDS, RSBY, JSY) are not performing well owing to poor awareness, poor utilisation and poor feedback mechanisms. I am looking at using ICTs (like IVR, Community Radios and Android Apps) to bridge this gap. This involves Machine-Human Interaction components to explore interfaces designed for audiences with low literacy levels. It also involves data analytics to provide information to beneficiaries of schemes, identify areas where the schemes are performing poorly and suggest measures for improvement. We are leveraging video-DVDs, IVRs and Community Radio Stations to improve awareness levels, provide information to the communities and conduct data-verification exercises.

About Me
My favourite subject in school was English. People say I am not bad at English. I love writing stories, and some have been published in The Statesman. I am also currently dabbling in satire writing.
I love reading stories. Enid Blyton is my favourite. Other authors I like are J.K. Rowling, Richmal Crompton, Agatha Christie, Dan Brown. Among Bengali authors, my favourites are Sarat Chandra, Bibhuti Bhusan, Bankim Chandra, Rabindranath.
