The PhD/MSR written test/interviews will be held on Dec 5, 6 and 7. Candidates who satisfy the criteria below for the part-time  programme should appear on Dec 5. Candidates satisfying the criteria for the full-time programme with first name starting with letters in A-N should appear on 6th and those with the remaining letters should appear on the 7th.


Outstation candidates (non-sponsored, full time) will be paid 2nd class to and fro train fare for appearing in the interview. Please bring a copy of your tickets. Accommodation will be provided in in Girnar hostel for male candidates and Kailash hostel for female candidates on payment of Rs 160 per day (lodging and boarding, no bedding provided -- but it can usually be arranged locally) in the form of demand draft drawn in favor of Director IIT Delhi Girnar Hostel or Director IIT Delhi Kailash Hostel.


You should report to Room 501 (4th floor) Computer Science and Engineering Department (Bharti Building) at 9:00am on the date of your interview. A written test may be given at 9:15am. (It is a short test and no extra time can be allotted if you are late. So, please report strictly on time. The test will focus on mathematical/analytical/CS aptitude. People failing the test may not appear for the oral interview.) 

Please bring original copies of your mark sheets and a no-objection/support letter from your employer (if you are a part-time/sponsored candidate).


Please note that It is NOT required that you come with a thesis area already defined. But understand that our faculty members can only guide in areas in line with their expertise. The research areas of the faculty is available at http://www.cse.iitd.ac.in. Please review it carefully. You should not appear for the interview if none of these areas fancy your interest. Also note that English composition and comprehension is an integral part of PhD -- working knowledge will be expected.



The shortlisting criteria for PhD applicants with MTech/ME/MS/MSR degrees are:

CSIR/UGC and PH candidates will get a waiver of 2% (0.4 GPA). Additionally candidates less than 2%/.4GPA above the cut-off must have completed BTech/BE in 1st division division (60%/6.75 GPA)


The shortlisting criteria for PhD applicants without MTech/ME/MS/MSR degrees and MSR applicants (they will be interviewed for MSR programme with possibility to convert to PhD later) are:
